Bee Spotting and Survey Training
Join bee expert Simon The Beekeeper and learn how to spot bee species and conduct a survey!
The primary national bumblee surveying scheme in the UK is BeeWalk run by the Bumblee Conservation Trust.
Volunteers walk a fixed 1 to 2 km transect once a month from March through to October to identify and count bumblebees, helping track population trends and climate change impacts.
As part of our community, this Saturday we have a limited number of places (15 max) for you to be trained in Bumble Bee identification and be part of the local contribution to the 2027 national efforts, by surveying across the Wincheap and South Canterbury area.
If you would like to take part then please come along to the Scout Hall on Saturday 22nd August at 10.00

Hello everyone, I'm Sarah, a Wincheap resident and yoga teacher.
I'd like to invite anyone who is interested to join me on Sunday mornings, 9am to 10am, for a gentle, beginner friendly yoga class on the Lime Kiln playing field overlooking the orchards. Please bring a mat if you have one, but I will have a few mats in case you don't.
Classes are free and I invite you to make a donation if you're able to the Wincheap Orchards campaign.
